Historical Question

Technocracy was the fastest growing social movement of the mid-1930's -why haven't you ever heard of it?Well, it was a movement in the 30's; I'm not sure it was all that dynamite of a movement. From what I can tell, it sounds like a totalitarian option between communism and fascism.
But if it were such a dynamo in the 30's, why did it a squelched? What stopped it?

Very simple , The Price System. The Hearst corporation and several others had strict orders not to talk about.
If you are really interested in technocracy why don`t you take a look at the 1934 Technocracy Study Course.
Mostly written by M.King Hubbert a famous scientist, oil geoligist.
You may have heard of the Hubbert Curve , recently in regard to oil. Only one of the many concepts this great scientist came up with.
Why the disparaging of people with ideas.? Why the lack of regard for creative people.? How is it that people limit their thinking in the box to such small things.? Why don`t you at least know something about all this before you blindly think you do.?

Well, IMHO, what I think squelched it was that it looked too much like Soviet Communism, what with central planning and a large, cumbersome bureaucracy running everything. It might have attracted Americans during the depression (any alternative to capitalism looked attractive), but once the war broke the back of the depression, other issues took the forefront.

Your right , and then after that we expanded like gangbusters. Again though there is nothing even remotely like Communism about it. If you read our Study Course from 1934 you will see this. It is available from a number of sources now. We are a completely open organization. Nothing hidden at all. we were legally incorporated originally in the state of New York. We still are a legal entity , now incorporated in the state of Washington. No funny business at all. As mentioned we have been investigated every which way by every agency of government. While it is true that we are calling for a change of governance, we would like to do it through education, and promotion of our ideas. How things actually play out is anyone's guess. We are not a political system as capitalism is or communism was.
We could end up in a technate by default because it is the only thing that might work. I hope.
There are many people that will cling to our present system even if it kills them. That is a pity. It is hard to be creative and change. We do run the risk now of destroying ourselves and the planet with the present system.
Our plan is to start with Canada, the U.S. , Mexico, and central America for starters, because of the resource base. This would be one unit. After it is established we could help the rest of the world to change also. Part of our program is to help the rest of the world get off the price system eventually. Why.? Self preservation. When choices are made using money, it does not bode well for anyone. Not the environment. Not people in general.
